Black Bug by wick-it
Now for those of you who know me, you know very well that I hate and despise all things that have anything to do with rap and hip-hop. For me to go out of my way to recommend a hip-hop album must mean something. For those of you who don't know who Big Boi or do not realize who he is, he is half of the hip-hop group Outkast. Now I happen to be a fan of a bunch of Outkast stuff, most notably the hit single Hey Ya. Which by the way is easily one of the top 100 songs of all time. Anyway I am not familiar with Big Boi's recent solo album, but if it is anything like this mash-up I might just have to give it a listen.
Now let me get to the part that I have a bit more experience with. The Black Keys are now one of my new favorite bands. Their latest album Brother has really grown on my especially with songs like Tighten Up and The Only One. I will admit that between the name of the band and the way the singer sings I thought it was a bunch of black guys. To my surprise everyone in the band is white, and most surprisingly the singer is white. Regardless of what color these guys are their music is awesome. I would highly suggest anyone who likes rock music to check these guys out.
So how well does Big Boi and The Black Keys work together? Pretty damn good I think. I honestly do not know how the hell this guy mixed up these two completely different albums and made them seem as if they were originally made as one. But take a listen for yourself and tell me what you think. The first song I posted is Black Bug which will probably sound familiar to any of you out there who listen to the radio. I also posted the rest below. I would at least check out The Only Fat Sax and Everlasting Shine Blockaz.
