Quest to Find a Scary Movie

I have been on this quest for quite some time.  I am a huge fan of horror movies, and I have been trying to find a movie that is scary, captivating, and enjoyable.  I have only found a few that contain all three of these characteristics.  I want to make this quest a joint effort.  So I will document my findings here for all of you, and hopefully you guys can makes suggestions.  If I get enough people working on this maybe we can find something good.  Please join me on my quest to find a movie that will truly scare the shit out of all of us.

Ever since I got Netflix I have been completely abusing the instant streaming feature.  I can honestly say that at this point I have watched almost every horror movie on Netflix streaming.   For those of you who may not know Netflix's collection of movies isn't too great.  The collection is limited and sometimes peculiar.  Especially in the horror genre, almost 80% of the horror films on Netflix are B-Flicks.  So I have had to shovel through a lot of shit to find a few diamonds in the rough, or in the case, the shit.

I want to keep this post short so let me get to the point.  I will post reviews about horror movies I find that are extraordinary.  In general however, I will write short posts with a few good picks every once in a while.  So let me start with a few of my favorites.  If you like horror, you got to check these out:

Halloween (2007 Remake)
High Tension (2003)
Session 9 (2001)
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)
The Strangers (2008)
Black Christmas (1974)

Just to let you know, my favorite horror series is Halloween. So I have a bias towards anything related to Michael Myers.  But those listed above are some of my all-time favorites.  I just discovered the underrated and unnoticed classic Black Christmas.  This movies served as an inspiration for the Halloween movies and many other films released after.  I also just finished playing through the video game Dead Space.  For you gamers out there looking for something with good game-play, great story, and plenty of scares check it out. It definitely scared the shit out of me a bunch of times.  Please check out some of my suggestions, and if you guys have any of your own please post in the comment section below.

Here are a few trailers to give you a taste.  Enjoy:
