I'm Almost Back/Dr. Dog at Terminal 5

Well, I don't want a thing to do with your kind.  And I ain't got no time to kill on your dime.  I haven't written anything in a while because I have been extremely busy with school, work, the gym, and everything in between.  However, by the end of this week I'll be done with this trimester.  I definitely want to rev up my posts on here.  I got some some new ideas for this site.  I am already planning some posts on stock picks, and I have some more reviews ready in the pipeline.  Overall things have been going pretty well for me lately.  I am somehow managing to BS my way through numerous school projects and papers without any hitches.  I have also been getting really good results form the gym, especially in the last few days.  Let's just say I found a "new" source of motivation.  And to top off an already amazing week, I got to go see Dr. Dog perform at Terminal 5 for a second time.

So hear I am, half a new man and half an old man.  Being at the concert on Friday reminded me of some of the good times I had about 9 months ago.  Around that time was when I went to my first concert, which was to see Dr. Dog at the same exact venue.  For those who have never been to Terminal 5, it is a great place to go see a concert.  The room is intimate, there are good acoustics, multiple bars, a second floor balcony, and most importantly good air conditioning.   I know 9 months doesn't seem like a long time, but for me it seems like ages ago.  It was a much better time in my short lived life.

Back then school was even more of a joke than it is now.  I had no "real" job, and really no responsibilities.  I got to eat, sleep, workout, play video games, play b-ball and soccer, and watch Tv.  I was living the American dream.  Now I have somewhat of a real job, school is becoming more of a pain in the ass, and I just don't have time for myself anymore.  Things are about to change.  Well, they have already began to change, but I am going to try to get back to my good old ways.  I decided to keep on pushing through with grad school, and if all goes according to plan I'll have my masters degree by the beginning of the summer.  Then I will start working on passing the CPA exam which will be an entire new load of BS.  The light at the end of the tunnel is that I will be done with school forever, and I will only have to focus on my career from then on.

Right now I making a strong effort at the gym.  My goal for this winter was to break 200 pounds, and I currently weigh 201 pounds as of today.  Though I hurt my back a few weeks back, I am trying to forget that that happened and get back to my full routine.  In about a month or two I'll start my cut, and try to rediscover my six pack again.  Its now currently buried under a few hundred slices of pizza.  There's a few people I'm trying to impress right now so I really have to step up my game.  I am also promising to shave my beard when I start cutting for the summer.  So if you see me with a beard, just be aware that I will eat anything in sight.  I am also convinced that my beard is the source of all my strength, so I don't want to cut it until I bench press 315 pounds.

Anyway let me talk about the concert a bit.  Dr. Dog was awesome as expected.  They played a different set this time so it was a pleasure to hear some different songs played live.  I had a really strong feeling a deja vu, because I had seen them play on the exact same stage almost a year ago.  But it was truly another memorable experience, I was much closer to the band this time around.  I also got to see the opening band, The Head and the Heart who were also very good.  The best part of the show was the encore, in which Dr. Dog play two of their oldest hits "Today" and "Oh No".  You had to see it in person to appreciate how cool it was. I put up the youtube video of Dr. Dog playing the "Rabbit, the Bat, and the Reindeer" below the post.  Which was by far the best performed song on Friday night.

Let me wrap this up.  I decided to write this post instead of writing a five page paper, make 20 discussion board posts, take my online final exam, and prepare for a major presentation that I have to make on Wednesday.  I think it was a good choice.  So I will do my best to get some more posts up here asap.  I will do my best to try my best with everything else.  Let me end this with the lyrics of Dr. Dog, from "Rabbit, Bat, and the Reindeer": I'm getting it back with that terrible feeling.  My vision is cracked, but it looks like it's healing.  I'm getting it back like it's four in the morning, when the sun only shines as if it's giving a warning.  I'm getting it back with the rest of the leap year.  I'm keeping the rabbit, the bat, and the reindeer.  I'm getting it out, whatever I've gotta keep in.  I'm telling the truth, said it don't win with pretend.  Should we pretend?
